How a beach in Puerto Rico inspired a mission to help dogs everywhere.

Born on a Beach in Puerto Rico

Lucky Sato started on a beach in Puerto Rico. When I found myself watching a Sato, the island's street dog, walking along the beach. I noticed Satos carried themselves like no typical stray. These dogs were survivors and carried the island spirit with them as well.

For the past 11 years, as a vet tech in Miami, I've cared for countless animals and stepped in for dogs who had no one else. Those moments, the late nights, the rescues, the ones who just needed someone to believe in them. Are what shaped Lucky Sato and everything it stands for.

Built for the Wild Spirit

All stray dogs carry a wild spirit, and that's what inspired me to create collars and leashes that truly keep up with them. I wanted something that could handle muddy trails, salty beaches, and lazy naps in the sun. All the moments that make up a dog's life.

Each collar and leash was made durable, washable, and built for every adventure. They're made so dogs can simply be dogs.

Why We Give Back

Every day in Puerto Rico, thousands of Satos roam the streets, beaches, and forests without food, shelter, or medical care. These resilient dogs deserve a second chance at life, and that's exactly why Lucky Sato exists.

After witnessing the Sato crisis firsthand and spending years caring for abandoned animals, I knew I couldn't just stand by. I wanted to create something that would make a real, tangible difference in these dogs' lives.

That's why a portion of every Lucky Sato purchase goes directly to rescue efforts in Puerto Rico. When you buy a collar or leash, you're not just getting a quality product for your dog. You're helping fund emergency medical care, vaccinations, foster programs, and flights to bring Satos to loving forever homes on the mainland.

It's personal for me. Every Sato I've seen on those beaches, every rescue I've helped with as a vet tech, every dog who finally found a family. They're the reason Lucky Sato was born, and they're the reason we'll keep fighting for them.

Lucky Sato proudly partners with FlyDogzPR, a U.S. registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing and rehoming Puerto Rico's stray, neglected, and abandoned dogs.

FlyDogzPR works tirelessly on the ground in Puerto Rico, pulling dogs from dangerous situations, providing urgent medical care, and coordinating transport flights to bring these deserving pups to adoptive families across the United States.
